Community
The Saprea Retreat provides a safe space for survivors to develop camaraderie and community with fellow survivors. This sense of community can provide survivors with feelings of support, validation, and understanding that play an invaluable role in healing from trauma. You lay the foundation for this community during your in-person experience and have opportunities to strengthen your connections through our online course as you return home.
Another primary way we encourage community at the Saprea Retreat is through Saprea Support Groups, which survivors can participate in at retreat. Survivors can also start or join a group before or after returning home.
Personal Time
During your in-person stay with us, you will have personal time to relax, reflect, and rejuvenate each evening. During this time, you can spend time by yourself or with others.

Who Can Participate in the Saprea Retreat?
We created the Saprea Retreat because we saw many services for survivors in crisis but virtually nothing for the survivors who, years or decades later, still feel the effects of abuse. If you’ve been coping with the impacts of sexual abuse but still struggle to cope with trauma related to the abuse, the Saprea Retreat is for you.
Any adult woman who was sexually abused at or before age 18 is eligible to participate in the Saprea Retreat. However, the retreat is best suited to survivors who:
- Function well across multiple areas of their lives.
- Can safely live in a social environment for 4 days with a group of other survivors.
- Are able to abstain from drugs and alcohol for 4 days without withdrawals.
- Are still affected, often deeply, by their past. These effects can persist even amidst the achieved successes of raising a family, holding a job, and/or contributing to the community.

45% improvement of life satisfaction.

37% reduction
of PTSD symptoms.

What Past Participants Are Saying About The Haven Retreat
More than 3,500 adult female survivors of child sexual abuse have attended The Haven Retreat. For some, attending the retreat felt like their only hope for healing. Take a look at what they’ve said about their experiences at the retreat.
“The Haven Retreat wasn’t a quick fix. Those don’t exist. But it was an opportunity to rest, learn, and share in a very safe place. I learned I am strong. I am beautiful. I am worthy. And even though the journey to healing is long, hard, and lots of work, I have the tools I need, and that’s dangerous in the hands of a woman who, as a child, has already survived hell on earth. I’ve come so far, and I’m not going back!”Leilani, SurvivorRead More Reviews
